FRIDAY FLOWERS: HYDRANGEAS

There seem to be lots of hydrangeas on the web these days…so here are mine!
I’m going to show you mine as they progressed this spring.  But I’m also playing around in Photoshop with exposure, and, having discovered “Curves” in my BYW course, I’m using that also. The top photo of each set is the “original” photo; the second one has been manipulated with Curves. So tell me which you like best!
I’m doing this as an experiment as so many bloggers are reworking the exposure and lighting of their original shots. I’m on the fence: sometimes it works, but other times I just wish they had left well enough alone. How do you all feel?

  1. I dont know, seriously. Some look over exposed.

  2. The originals look better to me….more definition and depth of color…..

  3. I think something in between the two might work better. Have you tried adjusting your levels? I try that first because it's easier than curves.

  4. I like the originals best, some of the reworked look over exposed as lindaraxa said. Keep experimenting and I'm sure you will find the right look.

I like the originals. Good photography and no need for adjustment, in my opinion.

  6. Thanks everyone…guess the "faded" look isn't going to make it on my blog!
Dee: yes, I know, but I'm just big on the Curves at the moment…love seeing what it can do!

  7. I'm liking the originals better with more intense color! I wish I had a hydrangea in my garden!
