You must check out this site: I just came upon it this morning. What wondeful pieces they have, and oh.... the colors. The orange clock would look great on my green apple kitchen wall!

Autumn & Fall Designs

Autumn  Fall   Thanksgiving  Leaves  Color!

 York and a few designs for new fall looks. Texture, a little script behind the design elements, borders: these all make great designs! These would look wonderful on paper products, melamine or rugs. 

Here are some wonderful colors from France. The vegetables are from the outdoor "marche" in Isle-sur-la-Sorgue,one of our favorite towns... The rugs, or "tapis" are a great addition to my house! And the yellow chairs were in an antique shop; wish I could have carried them home!

I love this! Using Pantone color chips and putting on mugs; very good idea.

And, love these dots: dots and stripes are so much a part of any design collection.

What Color Can Do

Look at these photos: the bright blue of the Morning Glories and the vivid pink of the Hibiscus. These were taken in early August. Then, see the trellis without the wonderful blue, and the hibiscus stems with no flowers. What a difference. It is color that made these images come alive.

Once again, it is detail: in this case the "detail"

of color that has made these images so 

wonderful. No, it's not the absence of color but 

the colorful detail that has changed. 

For me, it is this attention to color that makes

design so interesting. Whether it is the flowers,

or the color of painted walls, or a small bead on

a necklace.... this is surely the essence of "design."
